Terms of Service
BRIGGS AI — TERMS OF SERVICE
Version: 2026-10-02.1
Effective date: 2 October 2026
Operator: Joseph Briggs, trading as BRIGGS AI (an individual, not a limited company)
Contact: briggs.ai2026@gmail.com
1. About these terms
These terms cover your use of the BRIGGS AI application on supported computers and phones and the BRIGGS website. Application-specific provisions apply when you use the application. Please read the terms before accepting. If you do not agree, do not use the application or website. Nothing in these terms removes mandatory consumer rights.
2. Permission to use BRIGGS
You have limited, non-exclusive permission to use BRIGGS AI for lawful purposes, subject to these terms and any applicable purchase conditions. Third-party software, models and components retain their own licences. These terms do not restrict rights granted under applicable open-source licences. Acceptance does not grant microphone, notification, contact or other device permissions, or approve any individual action.
3. Prohibited use
You must not use BRIGGS to carry out, attempt, facilitate or encourage copyright or other intellectual property infringement; violence or physical harm; threats or intimidation; bullying, harassment, stalking, abuse or doxxing; unlawful discrimination or targeted hateful abuse; fraud, malicious impersonation, exploitation or deception; malware, unauthorised access, sabotage or damage to devices, systems, property or data; or other unlawful or deliberately harmful conduct.
These restrictions apply to prompts, imported material, generated content, connected applications and requested actions. Do not use another person's information, recordings, messages or protected material without the necessary permission or other lawful basis.
4. Your content and decisions
You are responsible for material you provide and for your decisions to use, publish, distribute or act upon generated content. AI output is not guaranteed to be original, accurate, lawful or free from third-party rights. Check facts, permissions and licences, particularly before publication or commercial use. Review recipients, message contents and consequential actions before approving them. BRIGGS's involvement does not make an unlawful action permissible. This does not transfer to you liability that legally belongs to us.
5. AI limitations and safety
BRIGGS is a development preview. It may misunderstand speech, produce incorrect or incomplete information, or fail to complete an action. It is not an emergency service, medical device or substitute for qualified medical, legal, financial or other professional advice. Do not rely on it as your sole way of getting emergency assistance or making decisions that could seriously affect health, safety or rights. Accessibility features are assistive tools; availability depends on devices, permissions, supported applications and configuration. Verify important results and keep suitable backups.
6. Local processing, storage and external services
BRIGGS's local AI functions process information on your computer or phone. Features may save settings, notes, tasks, task-routing records, approved memories, imported document text and other feature-related information locally. Local processing is not the same as no processing or no recording. Temporary files and caches may also be created during operation. Removing the app may not remove exported files or every desktop data folder.
Information held solely on your device is distinct from information received by the operator. Online research, websites, downloads, messaging and other external features may transmit relevant queries, content you choose to send and connection information such as your IP address to external services. Some enabled online functions may make background requests. Their privacy practices also apply. Operating-system backups, synchronisation and security services may process data according to your settings.
Support emails or diagnostic files you choose to send us are not local-only data. Visiting the website necessarily sends connection information to its hosting infrastructure. These terms therefore do not promise that no data is ever recorded or that all data always stays on your device. Read the relevant feature notices and permissions before use. Do not send us sensitive content unnecessarily.
The terms-acceptance record is stored on this device or in this browser and identifies the accepted version/content. This feature does not send acceptance to the operator or introduce analytics. Clearing application data or browser storage, changing profiles/devices, or a new terms version may require acceptance again. A local acceptance record is not proof of a user's identity. Accepting these terms is not consent to unrelated data processing or marketing and does not replace any required Privacy Notice.
7. Liability and misuse
We do not authorise or endorse copyright infringement, physical harm, threats, bullying, harassment, malicious conduct, unlawful discrimination or damage attempted or carried out using BRIGGS.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not responsible for losses caused solely by your unlawful misuse, your breach of these terms or independent third-party conduct where those losses are not attributable to our breach of contract, negligence or other legal responsibility.
Nothing excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence; fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; breach of statutory rights or obligations that cannot lawfully be excluded; or any other liability that applicable law does not permit us to exclude or limit. You retain remedies required by consumer law. Responsibility is not excluded merely because an error involves AI or a third-party component.
8. Third-party services
Connected apps and external services can change, become unavailable or impose their own conditions. We do not guarantee their continued availability or compatibility. This does not remove any responsibility we have under applicable law for BRIGGS or services we provide.
9. Changes
We may update the application and these terms for functionality, security or legal reasons. Material changes will be communicated before taking effect, with renewed agreement where required. Changes do not retrospectively remove accrued rights or statutory remedies. You can reopen the terms from the application's Terms of service control or the website's Terms of service link.
10. Law and contact
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales without depriving consumers of mandatory protections or court rights where they live. For questions, complaints, privacy queries or reports of misuse, contact Joseph Briggs at briggs.ai2026@gmail.com.
